*was started in 1963 and has been going on for 58 years.
*continues only by volunteer organizers that are no different from you.
*was started by Sylvia Reeves, an area school teacher, to keep kids engaged and creative in the summer months.
*is something to do on the Fourth of July. Something families can do together. Something to get the community feeling neighborly and doing all of those wonderful traditions.
*includes a focus on American History and honoring our heroes.
*is a profound value to our Historic Neighborhood enclave as an expression of neighborly care.
*welcomes families, kids, dogs, bicycles, wagons and strollers. But its long history has included large and small horses and buggies, burrows, goats, rabbits, and etc.
*is red, white and blue patriotism and wants you to join in a rich history and help create further legacy to celebrate this Great Day and this Great Country.
*is where nothing is out of the ordinary, and also, not much is needed to enjoy a great little walk in the neighborhood with friends. Red white and blue is come as you are.
*is as fun as you make it safe block(s) party.
*is the party you want to go to in the world !

*physical photos of the first 50 years exist in the hands of Sylvia Reeve’s grand daughter, Diane Hersey, and a digital archive of pictures to prove it are currently being restored.
