Help Revitalize the Catalina High School Park & Playground!
The city’s FIRST natural play area installed by Tucson Parks and Rec!
Introduction as written by the City of Tucson: “Earlier this year, the play equipment at Catalina High School Park was destroyed in a fire. In compensation for this loss, City of Tucson Parks & Recreation received $27,000 in insurance funding, and we need your help deciding how to spend it to reactive the space for the community!
Following the fire, invested neighbors reached out to Parks & Recreation and expressed their interest in nature play, an informal performance space/stage, planter updates, rainwater harvesting, and community art. The draft site plan below shows potential locations for requested features, and the precedent images provide some context for what those features could look like.”
Now, Palo Verde Neighborhood Association volunteers are leading a fundraising campaign to help complete the revitalization of this park. The more funds raised, the more elements or play structures can be added. We have set an initial fundraising goal of $10,000 to contribute to the project as the city’s insurance payout did not cover the full value of the previous playground structure.
We are asking all of Tucson to chip in so that all of us can enjoy this unique midtown park for daily visits, weekend playdates, birthday celebrations, and more. Your donation will help bring to life the vision outlined below.
